As Christmas approaches, we at Smidgen Press wanted to do something special for our kindred spirits, the readers that have been supporting us and loving our publications. We thought, what better project for a Smidgen Press Christmas than to collect lovely stories by Lucy Maud Montgomery? Why these stories?
By no means do we want you to think this book is a complete collection of all the Christmas or winter writings dear Lucy Maud ever penned. After all, she authored hundreds of short stories, that we know of, but we had a reason we chose these particular treasures.
For this, our first Smidgen Press Christmas edition, each selected writing has a flavor unique to kindred spirits, one of hope and joy, as well as a sense of longing for our world to truly become a better place. A place Anne would be proud of.
We also felt that this specific collection needed lovely artwork to add to the ambience of this beautiful edition … and we think you will be enchanted when you open it. Had we tried to fit in any more, the book would have been a door stop, and while we don’t shy away from larger-than-life books {see our gorgeous book The Daisy Chain if massive books thrill you}, this one needed to be easily held in the hands. Especially simple to wrap and place under the tree for someone close to your heart.
